Human error the likely Cause for Drop in Cabin Pressure on Jet Airways Mumbai-Jaipur Flight.

Passengers on Jet Airways flight bleed after crew overlooks to maintain cabin pressure as reported by the Economic Times by Indiatimes.

A Jet Airways flight between Mumbai & Jaipur had to turn back to Mumbai midway. This happened this morning (20th Sep 2018) due to a drastic drop in cabin pressure. This led to bleeding from nose & ear of passengers on the flight and many complained of pressure exploding in their head.

An official of the DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) reported that the Jet Airways aircraft operating flt 9W 697 of 20th Sep 2018 Thursday from Mumbai to Jaipur had to turnback to Mumbai, as cabin pressure dropped due to the negligence of a cockpit crew.

“During climb, a crew member overlooked to switch on the bleed switch, as a result of which cabin pressurization could not be maintained. This triggered the oxygen masks” said the official.

The official added that as per early accounts from passengers and official information, few passengers have been reported with nose bleeding.

Out of a total of 166 passengers on this flight 30 have reported nose bleeding and few of ear bleeding and headaches. NDTV has reported that 8 of these 30 passengers are in serious condition.

All the affected passengers are receiving due medical attention at the airport,” the official further said.
