Garbine Muguruza has reached Dubai and will soon be seen in action at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.

Former world No.1 Garbine Muguruza who is currently seeded No. 12 has 2 Grand Slam victories under her belt. She has won the 2016 French Open and the 2017 Wimbledon both in the Women’s Singles category. 2018 was not a kind year for her as she saw her ranking slide from No. 1 to 12. The current year has also come with it’s challenges for Muguruza as fans have not been able to witness the best of her till now. At the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships she has a tough first round match where she is set up against Dayana Yastremska.
Dayana Yastremska holds the upper hand on the back of a 2-0 record over No.12 seed Garbine Muguruza. Both these are recent wins coming in the past 5 months. She defeated Garbine Muguruza in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 in the 2nd round of Luxembourg last October. At the Hua Hin quarterfinals Dayana Yastremska recorded her second win 7-6(5), 6-1 against Muguruza just about 3 weeks ago. Ukrainian Yastremska appears to be on a roll and her on court confidence speaks for itself. Garbine Muguruza has a tough match ahead of her and it will enhance her confidence if she can pull this one off.
