PV Sindhu admits that Christiano Ronaldo, Roger Federer and Serena Williams are her role models : Ahead of Tokyo Olympics India’s badminton star PV Sindhu said that she takes inspiration from Serena Williams Roger Federer and Christiano Ronaldo.
Indian shuttler PV Sindhu has disclosed she draws inspiration from Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo. The 36-year-old striker just won the Golden Boot at Euro 2020 courtesy of his 5 goals & one assist and shows no indications of decelerating. “I cannot describe in the right words, the way he (Ronaldo) plays, the skill, the technique he has is incredible,” Sindhu told Olympics.com. Apart from Cristiano Ronaldo, she also looks up to two tennis superstars Roger Federer and Serena Williams. Both of them are perhaps the greatest to grace the sport & Sindhu wants to follow their footsteps while learning from their perseverance and longevity.
Serena Williams, 39, has won 23 Grand Slam titles and who can forget the 2017 Australian Open victory while she was pregnant. Roger Federer, also 39, is still competing at the highest level and recently reached the last 16 at Wimbledon.
“Serena believes she can do it, being a mother, being a woman. She’s done extremely well, she’s a solid woman. Whereas, Federer, is another living and performing legend. Maintaining that level of top notch tennis, at his age, is not easy. He’s been there at the top for a long while,” said Sindhu.
Sindhu won her opening round at the Olympics against Israel’s Polikarpova Ksenia on July 25.
