Lion Air’s Black Boxes Search Intensifies | Technical Director Fired
Indonesian detectives searching for the flight recorders of crashed Lion Air flight 610 have caught transponder “pings” that possibly will lead them to the devices, and answer questions as to what happened during the last moments of the flight.
Haryo Satmiko, deputy director of the (NTSC) National Transport Safety Committee, conveyed to CNN in a SMS that, while the pings had been noticed, detectives needed more “technical efforts” to pinpoint the exact location of the so-called “black boxes.”
Lion Air’s Black Boxes Search Intensifies
Lion Air broadcasted on Wednesday that it has fired its technical director.
The airline was not forthcoming about this personnel change but said in a news release it was made at “the guidelines and the decision of the (Indonesian) ministry of transportation.”
The timing of the firing of Lion Air’s technical director and the news that the black boxes will soon be located raises a few questions. Or is there something that is not being revealed at this stage?
