Johnny Depp has been granted permission to proceed with a $US50 million ($A69 million) defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard after last years supreme court ruling that he repeatedly attacked his ex-wife.
Despite Depp losing his UK libel case against The Sun for branding him a wife beater, he has been allowed to proceed with a defamation suit concerning an op-ed piece Heard wrote in 2018.
New mum Heard had penned a bit for The Washington Post about being a survivor of domestic abuse.
Depp wasnt named within the piece, but Heard had previously accused him of violence after their 2016 divorce.
